Frozen Puck is when a goalie covers it causing play to stop. Totally legal and it's pretty much lingo.

Enforcers were pretty much the 4th line. They go out there and mess with the other 3 lines roughing them up or getting them into fights. Make them take their head out of the game. They are there but they don't get as much spotlight and if anything frowned upon with the new hockey rules.

3) Is fighting okay? the refs never break it up but they always give penalties.

Fighting has been part of hockey since it went professional. If they didn't have a penalty for it that is all players would do and instead of the game of hockey it would be a boxing match on ice. Once again you don't see it as much because of the new hockey rules.

4) What months does the season take place in? (other than this one obviously, as i am watching the Wings/Black Hawks right now and watched a Stars/Kings game last week.)

end of September is when preseason starts... not great hockey but hey it's hockey. The season starts in October and goes all the way to April. Playoffs vary how long they go but it's the best hockey you can get on TV.
Now what I recommend if you really want to see great hockey is to watch Juniors or Professional Hockey. These are kids trying to prove their worth to move up to the next level. Intensity is high and rivalries are bitter. It's so much fun to watch any one of those games.

Icing - when a player shoots the puck across at least two red lines, the opposing team's goal line being the last, and the puck remains untouched.

So i have recently become very into hockey. I have lived in the southern US my whole life so i was only mildly exposed to it. Now after a short amount of time, I cant get enough. So basically im new to it and have some questions about some of the things i hear.

1) what is a frozen puck call?
2) Do Enforcers still exist? What do they do?
