This is a full Princeton Russian course, free for download, legally too. No strings attached. The guy who wrote it released it over the net because Princeton stopped using it a few years ago (they used it from 1998 to 2004). There are a hundred some odd lessons, staring at the very beginning with the alphabet and letter pronunciation. Each lesson has its own audio files for exercises and such, which is why the file is so huge.

I've been working through it for the past two months, and there's just an incredibly large amount of information and content. The whole thing will probably take a year to get through with hard work, longer if you take it easy.

Does anyone else find Rosetta Stoned to be, well, kind of useless? I mean, I really do appreciate the guy who's posting them all, but how are you supposed to learn from them? They just throw phrases around and you're supposed to memorize them without understanding what each word means? No grammar or vocabulary building..? Am I missing something? (I've only tried Russian #2 so far).
