Since this thread does not seem to have a link sticky, I am making one for you. Post all your useful and interesting philosophy-related links here.

I'll get the ball rolling with the Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy - a scholarly dynamic reference work with a search engine. Kind of like Wikipedia, only better.

Well the scientism and general bias towards materialism, naturalism and atheism is pretty staggering. I realize that this is partially a function of the userbase and not necessarily institutional bias on the part of the mods, but I'm not sure we need a link for science articles.

In the spirit of the thread, however, here are some links to give more perspective:

http://www.newadvent.org/cathen/
Catholic encyclopedia, useful in theological debates and theism, theodicy and ethics questions

http://www.origins.org/menus/design.html
Essays and articles relating to intelligent design (bias in favor of it)

http://www.icr.org/

ICR and SCS, with their pages in favor of a "scientific" approach to creationism. Relevant to the notion of "Christian science" (distinct from the religion of Christian Science) and questions about philosophy of science in general.

Not trying to flame, but for those of you who like to use words like "scientism" (which, by the way, was a word coined by intelligent designers to try to make the argument that science=faith), please familiarize yourself with Kant and Stace first. If I can find a good link for them, I'll post it here.

This link is for you, probably-a-truth-denier.

BTW Everyone on this board should read this.

>>7486 here. Not sure what you mean by "truth-denier." Most people with strong theistic beliefs hold them as the absolute truth; metaphysical naturalism has done more to bolster the position of skepticism than evangelism ever has.

In the spirit of the thread, tools for those of you looking to go into philosophy.

Well-established blog about the profession.

Leiter also runs THE ranking of Philosophy grad schools. The page also has plenty of information about going into philosophy: MA or PhD? Should I take out loans? Which schools excel in which areas?

APA. Great place to submit conference papers and do some networking.

E-texts galore.

Paper by David Brink on some advice about the profession and getting there. Pretty good even if he is a dirty Cornell Realist.

Free will is an illusion. We feel like we have choices, only because we don't have awareness of all the forces causing us to pick a choice. Look up Determinism.

Of great interest to those obsessed with the "good" life, honesty, values, meaning, etc.
