Finnish mythology hasn't really anything to do with norse mythology and vikings, so Turisas (which is the name of the god of war) may distort the image a bit for foreigner listeners when mixing the elements of different Scandinavic and Finnish folk mythologies.

Well, of course Finnish culture and mythology with it has taken influences from surrounding Nordic beliefs, but the impact is mostly just nominal.

And about Kalevala: I recommend you to try to find it written in non-poetic form. You get the story clear without having to get irritated with badly translated language. Poetic Kalevala opens only if you understand Finnish really well.

I found this cool mod for HL2 a while back, called Pirates Vikings & Knights II. I've played it for a week or so, and its really friggin good.

One of their designers/concept artists is a Norwegian history buff, so the classes are based somewhat on history/ famous mythology.

The youtube video is of one of the new viking class, Gestir, released a little while ago.
