In 5th grade I remember that my teacher was so fucking awesome that if we did really well on our homework for a whole month he'd buy us High Life food which was a little burger place down the street. I always did my homework cause it was easy as hell so I always got High Life.

All I can remember is the teacher wheeling in a tv so we could see the news and the teacher explaining what had happened and how this was a historically significant moment in history. She looked really sad, I don't remember any kids going home or anything but I think school let out early because I can't remember much else of that day.

I don't understand how anyone can ignore the older games, but then again, I'm older than a lot of people here. I was 10 years old when I first got an NES of my own, and had played on it since I was probably five. This was years before the N64 and Playstation came out, so Super Mario Bros. and Duck Hunt was pretty much all I had. ^^

It makes a fair amount of sense that games that come before you were alive to play them wouldn't be something you'd like. For instance, my mom has a bit of a liking for Space Invaders and Pac-Man, while I find them a bit boring. I can appreciate their existance, but I don't have to LIKE them. Likewise, I never played the original SimCity (now called "Classic"I'm totally making an awkward moment right now and in fact started with SimCity 2000 on the PS1. So when I went to go back to the original, it wasn't very entertaning to me, because it just wasn't as good. Plus, in high school, I had a friend that had a graphing calculator that could play it, in glorious monochrome. Which I still think is crazy...
