Holy fuck, I can't believe I forgot those! And yeah, great, great films. The Spanish is very good but I actually prefer the American premise. Other than that, almost frame for frame the same film but excellent. The sound editing or whatever it's correct term is on the American one too is awesome.

I can't believe nobody mentioned REC and REC 2!
Spanish movies, very good, made in that "portable camera" style of filming.
In the 2nd movie there is an interesting TWIST regarding the "zombie" origins.
There's an American adaptation of the first REC, haven't seen it yet but I heard it's pretty much the same thing, only in English.

Then, I watched it and thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it.
It was quite excellent actually. I certainly hope they make another one.
It did a proper job of modernizing Holmes without bastardizing it.

Return Of The Living Dead 1 and 3 are fantastic.

1 and 3 were great because they actually injected some originality into the zombie genre again.
