Before you do, figure out how you're going to edit it. Unless a college near you will let you use their table splicer, you're fucked.

Anyone else thinks that there needs to be a proper movie about good old Cthulhu?

I am aware of the two films titled "Cthulhu"

the first of which being an Australian low budget horror movie released in 2000.

The second of which being a movie about a gay guy who has to deal with life and being gay (WTF)
supposedly its loosely based on "The Shadow Over Innsmouth"

What I want to see is a movie following the plot of the short story "The Call of Cthulhu"

Im sure there are talented artists who could capture the sanity draining visage of the great old one.

But the question is who do you think could capture the image of Cthulhu the most perfectly?

thats the problem now isn't it?

I'm just wishing for someone to do a proper Lovecraft movie, put in the same amount of effort as a big name movie

There IS a nice b/w, mute-film style short film wich I found pretty well done and entertaining and true to the story. But I fear it is among those you already mentioned.

There's also the film "Dagon"

Has anyone here seen the movie Heavy Metal? That fantasy one based on the magazine. I'm just getting into fantasy and wonder if it's any good and worth it to check out, as it looks nice. Also if you know anywhere i can download it or whatever that would be greatly appreciated.

OP, if you like heavy metal music, you should watch both movies. Tits, blood, carnage, and the Lok-Nar. also, the first one has a bit in it that got warped into the plot for Alien. The second has Micheal Ironsides, can't go too wrong there.

One of the few movies that actually drew me in. I was anxious and jumping through the whole thing, it is quite an amazing movie
>> No. 1328
It was okay, but I couldn't help feeling that it was a trope somehow. I can't cite any examples of the amnesiac memory scene flashback plot device being being used before but I'm sure it has been done to death.

Oh wait, I can. Tattoos and journals and pretty much everything else intact in Planescape: Torment.

I don't know if this is a good question to ask here, but I'm going to hope that you guys will still know an answer.

I want a movie that is going to scare the holy hell out me. I don't just mean pulse pounding fear, I want to be afraid to even get off my bed. No, I want to be afraid of even my bed. I want to live every moment for the next week with the certainty that I am going to suffer the most excruciating death.

Paranormal activity did nothing for me. No scary movie ever has really. Give me your best and your worst simoutaneously.

Preferably something both suspenseful and gory.

Why do you have so many dead space images?

Not that I disapprove, it was pretty fun.

If you view films as just films then nothing will terrify you. Nothing terrifies me in the realm of film. View them as a window of possabilities rather than a sequence of fictional events and most movies have a better effect.

seconded.
watching films while blazed helps with this immensely.

Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy
That is a perfect example of how not to do a book to movie transition. Everything about that movie was horrible. The only good part was Stephen Fry as the guide.
Maybe one day they will do it properly.

As a point of interest, that movie is in no way an adaptation of the book series.
Every time The HHGTTG switches mediums (records, radio, book, tv, Hollywood blockbuster action film, etc.) it also Starts over and becomes completely different and adds new details plot elements/twists, characters and ideas.

They could have made a shitton of new Hitchhiker's movies in the american film style and it would have been awesome. Too bad some asshole shot Douglas Adams during production.

I think it's better that he died. Hugh Laurie can barely play any character other than House, which is extremely overrated to begin with, and everyone would have bitched about Jim Carrey being in it.

Wait, are you sure he was shot? From what I can find he had a heart attack...

Damnit, why are movies with such an interesting premise and good potential so often poorly executed!

This movie, My Bloody Valentine, had great potential, but with a shitty story, cast and director it was ruined. Also, schizophrenia is such a shitty overused basis for a horror movie.

I miss slasher movies. I miss the mindless-killer movies, and now we have to sit through torture movies instead.

I didn't much care for the editing, it was too fast, but I loved it otherwise. I'd love to see more of that Eden Sinclair kicking ass, but there's nothing to base a sequel on.

Editing schmediting. If they tried to make a game using the world from Doomsday I would play it.

So my friends been into stop motion animation for 10 years or so now. He has some big dreams but can't seem to find a good path to realising them. I say 'can't seem to' but I mean 'doesn't want to'. I tell him he should go do some higher education in the subject or get some professional experience in the industry, animation/TV production/Film production, something, but he doesn't listen and reckons these situation can't teach him anything.
Anyway watch this and tell me what you think.

Given some better equipment and a little more experience, he could really get somewhere. Go ahead and kick your friend in the dick.

the animation was pretty badass but this is something youve got to want alot and obviously he doesnt so id leave him alone about it

After watching a lot of movies lately (realized a rental place by me is extremely cheap), I've come to realize what kinds of movies I really like.

'Snatch', 'Lock, Stock, and Two Smokin' Barrels', 'The Usual Suspects', 'Smokin' Aces', '7 Times Lucky', 'Pulp Fiction', 'Lucky Number Slevin', the list goes on.

But it's that multiple-story, twisty, easy-to-get-lost, watch a million times and still find new stuff that I LOVE.

Help me find more.

You may enjoy the grandaddy of your favorite genre: The Sting. Robert Redford and Paul Newman are incredible in it. Classic twist at the end.

Witch one, the one from 1972 or 2007 ?
I have just seen the one from 2007 with Law and Caine in it and I love it,
but i have heard people saying that the old one was better.
