In the interest of keeping this board from becoming /hair/, post pictures of your hair, or otherwise discuss hair in this thread only.

Thanks a bunch

I'll post a pic of him tomorrow. (sry for dbl post!)

Greetings, /fa/shion gurus! This is a board where we discuss fashion and style, which includes clothes, makeup, hair styles, and accessories.

-A few rules:

1. Showing your latest style is always appreciated. Please keep in mind however that this is not /hor/. Lets keep the conversation fashion focused.

2. You don't have to post a picture of yourself, but it would be helpful. At least post a picture of someone similar to your physique.

3. Make it easier for us to give you advice by posted your height, weight, body type, and current sense of style. Commonly asked questions may be addressed in this sticky, so please take the time to hit reply and browse through it.

4. Some subcultures have an affiliated sense of fashion. This is NOT the place to discuss your personal feelings about said subcultures (although this is the place to comment on why you find certain fashions to be hideous).

If you have any questions please PM Kyduh (Usually idling in #toughguys and #99chan) or one of the more responsible mods/admins

What makes a professional model? Well it needs to be a profession and while some models can manage this freelance most who can actually command payment are signed to a /modeling agency/.

There is a difference between a modeling agency and talent agency/talent search/model convention/scam. Model agencies are in place to book jobs and find work for the model and then take 20% of everything that model makes but if you're signed to one you have access to all of the high profile jobs unavailable to an unrepresented model.

Clients work through ad agencies who work through modeling agencies any other type of representation is a waste of money.

Modeling agencies have one job and most are based in the big cities i.e. New York, LA, London, etc. In order for you to be a professional model you have to be signed to a modeling agency for all intents and purposes of this FASHION KNOWLEDGE.
So what makes up a professional model? Well it differs depending on gender and this is where /fa/ is very very very wrong. Female models have a very small window of acceptance, female models are expected to have or have close to by one inch maximum deviation a 34 inch bust a 24 inch waist and their hips must measure 24 inches.

The height is the real disqualification here and female models have to be at least 5'9 or they will not be considered competitive. There are exceptions to this rule however you have to be so stunning that this handicap is seen as trivial otherwise you're fucked.

Female model demand shifts from year to year and preferred hair color, eye color, skin color is dependent on the trends of that season. Female models are as young as 16 and are usually done with their career in fashion by 24.

For male models it's much more open, average male model stats are a 33-40 inch chest, a 29-32 inch waist (any skinnier and you're fucked, sorry /fa/gs), and hip size is usually unimportant. That's right /fa/ all of you out there that think that by rejecting exercise like a retarded Vietnamese hooker is the hot thing to do are fairly unfashionable.

My new look, I'm balding /fa/, I'm balding bad. I am very "aero/American Eagle" right not,but I was thinking of going to "American Apparel" and trimming off some muscle. I have two pics that I do not feel flatter me, but are quickly available on this laptop and I may post more later if it helps. The first is *now* and the second was a little bit ago.

You look older than you are. It's not really meant to be an insult, just a fact.

The easiest thing to improve is the beard; if you can't grow it out any longer than that (or don't want to), take some scissors or maybe get a beard trimmer, and just even it out. If it looks puny after it's lost some of its length, you might want to just leave your chin as bald as your head until you actually turn thirty or so when most guys really can start growing their beards out thicker, but until you actually figure out how skimpy your beard looks after you trim it properly, it'll be a little hard to tell.
I doubt it'll be a problem after the trim as you look like you can grow it out just fine in >>5242, but in the pics you've got here, it looks a little too scruffy for me to take seriously.

Other than that, it's still true that you look older than you are, and it's also true that usually people look better when they dress older than their age anyway. Not saying you should throw all your T shirts and shorts out right away, but >>5240 might be on to something =P
After all, is there really any reason not to be looking older and more respectable?

And finally, not sure what you mean by "trimming off some muscle," but the bald look more often than not goes with a more built figure. Your body type also looks thicker in general; I can't say very well since you don't really have any full body pics here, but people with thicker body types usually look better with a good bit of muscle on them as well.

Fair enough, I cut and shaved off all the head hair in>>5223, and proceeded to royally fuck up my beard, so I went for the fur cock ring (the goatee). I just reshaved and booted the beard too, I just can't believe that I am balding. That's what makes the thirty comment sting, I mean if I had the same thick head of hair, I would be growing it out again *sigh*. Piss party aside, I do retain a lot of fat if I don't work out, I just want to lose the extra fifteen pounds I've put on and maybe just run/elliptical/whatever. Just get super lean. Not loose all the muscle but maybe go down from what I'm at now (187 pounds) to maybe 155 (pounds)?

Well I was hoping for more, but it is what it is. I couldn't find a single picture that just SCREAMS my fashion, but I did find a picture of me from when I was younger though. Oh how I miss hair... Again, if anyone has anything actually constructive to suggest, I would like a good change. *wink*

Hey guys, simple review of my daily wear. Normally i wear dark navy jeans and a nice collared shirt with t-shirt under it. because its winter i usually wear a hoody (sometime with (blatantly fake) fur for warmth, sometimes i replace the collard shirt with a light hoody. I go to a prep school so i have to wear a suit every day, so i bought a peacoat to make it a little less generic looking. hair is usually around that length, but it gets thick and poofy so i have it razor-ed to get rid of some of that. i wear rings (one on each hand) most of the time, both simple silver. and i sometimes wear a necklace with an antique skeleton key on it.

What are some general rules for matching shirts, suits, and ties? materials, patterns, styles, colors, hats, or anything else you can think of. You guys discovered anything which works particularly well?
>> No. 5219
"There are definite do's and dont's to wearing a boldly striped shirt and tie, good buddy."

If you want to just go with some general rules though, try and stick with one general colour theme, and make sure your shirt is always lighter than your tie, or you'll look like one of those trendy motherfuckers who thinks it's stylish to wear a black shirt and red tie or some shit.
Try and make sure your tie and shirt have some of the same colour in them, and if you're wearing a striped shirt, don't wear a striped (or boldly patterned) tie, and vice versa.

If you're wearing pinstripes, be careful about striped ties and shirts, but as long as the suit is noticeably subtler than the shirt or tie, you'll be ok.

Hats are pretty much a no-go if you want to look respectable these days. While you can pull off a casual look in a fedora, if you try it with a suit these days you'll just look A) nostalgic, or B) pretentious.

Basically, be careful nothing clashes too noticeably, don't use contrasting colours, and avoid anything (apart from ties) that's too bright, and even then, be careful.

If you're wearing a white shirt though, then matching the tie to the suit rather than the shirt is entirely acceptable.

And of course rainbow suspenders are always in style.

ABCs of mens fashion

Don't make everything match: "To achieve the nonchalance which is absolutely necessary for a man, one article at least must not match. For instance, you can wear a dark blue suit and tie with a pale blue shirt and navy blue socks, but you must then have a patterned silk handkerchief say in dark red or a paisley design of green and brown; or you could stick to a blue handkerchief and have dark red socks."
Beware the bow-tie wearer: "By day, often in patterned or spotted foulard, it is usually worn by individualists ... On less genial characters, it can have an aggressive air and can arouse some kind of resentment at first meeting of a new acquaintance."
Avoid sandals and shorts: "Always wear a collar and tie in a town, even if it's by the sea, after six o'clock. Never wear shorts except actually on the beach or on a walking tour. All short sleeve shirts look ghastly. Sandals are hell, except on the beach where you want to take them off: or on an erect cock. And, worn with socks are super hell."
Men can wear red: "Scarlet is perhaps the most masculine of all colours, but its very flamboyancy limits its use."
Don't overlook slippers: "Grandest of all are velvet slippers, with your monogram or crest embroidered in gold thread. These you can dine in, at home of course."
Never turn up your trousers: "You can't have any."
Spend money on a belt: "You should always try and buy, or get given, the most expensive belt possible ... It should preferably be the same colour as your shoes: and, if you are very natty, it could be in the same leather as your wrist strap."
Pay attention to socks: "The matching of socks to the tie I find affected."
Don't be scared of fur: "The modern young man is now so sure of his virility that I think he will take the risk, in the not too distant future, of wearing a coat made entirely of fur."

Say, to all of you who own those barefoot shoes, what do you think of them? Since you're not wearing a sock, how do they handle odors? How weird is it to have all of your toes be separated? How tight are they on the toes? How is the grip on slippery surfaces? Are they worth the money?

Picture related, it's the model I want to get

I wore a pair one time for a hike. They hold up fine, grip is good etc, The only problem I had was that dirt and pebbles kept getting in. Not something you should wear in public.

I have only once in my life, ever seen a pair of these. It was a few years ago, and they were on some hipster douche bag.

To be honest, I secretly like them.
>> No. 5252
these are for people who want to run barefoot without ripping the shit out of their feet.
people normally run incorrectly because of how padded shoes are, so people land heel first. but running barefoot one lands fore foot first and rolls their foot inward striking the heel last.
these shoes, in short, are for people who want to correct their running quickly and easily.

It took some getting used to but they are pretty comfy and my foot mobility has improved somewhat. I own the pair you posted and use them round the house on walks to the park, at the beach and swimming off the rocks.

I don't have problems with rocks with the closed version and i wear them with socks on occasion >> http://www.injinji.com.au/

I remember being a kid, I was always told not to wear toe-socks to often because it would spread your toes out. Now that I'm getting through my twenties, I'm starting to notice that my toes kind of like form on one another and get crushed together a bit. An then you see like an older (50ish) man or womans feet and its like damn thats ugly. I think its probably actually benificial to wear toe-socks often. Especially if they're in cute christmas or halloween prints HNNNNNNNNNG

Also its good to use a puma stone on your feet atleast once a month. It helps take off dead skin, caluses are nice. They make it easier to walk on stones/etc. But as soon as you notice your caluses turn yellow a bit or getting dry and cracked its best to use a puma stone.

Awh good luck with that, I tan very easily so I have to use really high SPF lotion and fucktons of it.
I'm not sure about the milk and cheese thing, you might just get broken bones instead.

What kind of powders do you mean? foundations or proper white ghostly looking powder? pretty much face paint.
>> No. 5250
goth here, just stay out of the son all the time, in extremes use an umbrella in sunlight and/or high SPF sun-cream. Always have been pale and kept it that way through avoiding sunlight indoors.
