I believe Americans would call it a pick-up, and I think the American version of the Hilux is called a Tacoma, just to give you an idea.

The 1988-1997 Hiluxen were the toughest (through simplicity) of them all. It has ground clearance such that I can cross the two rivers that I need to get to work (can be up to a metre [3 feet] deep), it has a 145 litre (38gal) custom fuel tank, custom front and rear torsen LSD diffs, and many other little mods.

She's not pretty, she's not as comfortable as some road vehicles, but she's verifiably unkillable.
