Okay /co/, about two months ago, my girlfriend and I started reading Y, and we both loved it. Ten TPBs later I can't think of another series to start that has such a consistently interesting plot and characters that's actually worth buying. I've read about half of Transmet; Spider's pretty rad, but Ellis kind of goes off on self-righteous tangents too often to hold my interest.

So /co/, any recommendations?

ps- the ending of Y made me baw and rage at the same time. 355? NOOOOOOOOO

You read Preacher yet?

Are you staying away from traditional superhoero stuff? If not I would pick up Morrison's Animal Man, if yes try Bone, that is a classic, and I want more people to appreciate it. Preacher is o.k, but the sheer volume of trade paperbacks make it a pricey collection.
If you like Y you will probably like Walking Dead.

I might try Animal Man; I have all of Morrison's Doom Patrol and I love it as well. Bone is what first got me into comics as a kid, so I've read that already. But I'll try some walking dead, that always seemed pretty spot on whenever I looked through it at the store.

Also, I've download some Sandman (simply because I never got around to reading it), and I'm pretty underwhelmed. It's alright, but it's not the greatest thing ever; encyclopedia->folklore/mythology section->copy and paste any character/story->throw in Dream somehow and viola! A Sandman book!

Funny you should mention Doom Patrol, that was my original suggestion before I decided I liked Animal Man better. Doom Patrol got a bit weird for weirdness' sake, but hey that's Morrison. I have been reading classic Doom Patrol (DC Showcase) and liking it more than Morrison's run.
Sandman is great if you are in highschool.

Fanboyism aside, Sandman is at least interesting enough to read until I pick up Animal Man. But that's only 3 volumes long, so I'm still open for suggestions; I would like to avoid any of the gauche superhero stuff though.
