The ending of #1 was a major letdown. So we have this comic that's supposed to be really shocking and disturbing, right? And the infected people are horrifically maniacal in every way, very much including sexual depravity, right? And a couple and their little girl gets taken down by a group of infected, right?

Well... Imagine my shock and dismay when both of the parents get brutally raped, but the little girl gets away with a clean death by being ripped apart. Weak sauce. I was expecting at least a little gory, brutal child rape with optional dismemberment. perhaps even the little girl getting infected and then joining in on the sexual assault and mutilation of her parents, all while psychotically spouting filthy satanic obscenities from her bloody little mouth. Now that would be disturbing.

tl;dr, Garth Ennis is a huge pussy, he holds back too much.

Well, maybe I was being a bit of a woozler with the "Garth Ennis is a huge pussy" line... but I'm dead serious about the rest. If they're shooting for disturbing (which they obviously are), they shouldn't take any half measures. The girl not getting raped wasn't believable at all, and hurt the story in my opinion. I understand why they didn't do it (political shitstorm over producing what the media would undoubtedly report as a comic series which is about violent child rape and nothing more), but still, I don't like this attitude of artistic compromise that still hangs around American comics, even in this post-Comic Code Authority era.

Which reminds me. This is an American comic, which takes place in America. Why the fuck are all the American characters talking like Eurofauges? I know Ennis can write American as good as any Yank (just read Punisher or Preacher), so there must be some reason why he's doing this. Anyone care to enlighten me?

They've listed 9 as having come out before 7 or 8 under their July releases.

But 7 doesn't look to have come out yet.
Some sites say two weeks for it come out, but I really don't know, there's no real release date other than what has been said before, september...

From what we've seen before, the rash just barely shows up around the edges on people who have been newly infected, then gets larger over the course of a few days.
