Excellent decision, I love Animal Yokocho. It's legitimately funny at times too, so it actually has something going for it besides the extreme cuteness. My Melody, though... it is a truly terrible show. Like, one episode was about dolls that came to life and made male soccer players with unshaven legs crossdress as cheerleaders with their magical powers, and they flashed their panties in order to distract the other team. And it wasn't even funny; it just made me think "Japanese people are insane."

Sexy Commando is great. Jojo is great. Elfen Lied is great. Hell everything mentioned here is great. My favorite is Scrapped Princess, but it doesn't really fit in with all the other things mentioned here. OP would probably be better of ignoring that and watching Hellsing: Ultimate instead, or anything else mentioned here.
